How do you not get to Carnegie Hall? Schedule a Carnegie Hall debut and announce it just before a worldwide pandemic takes over! Superstar bass-baritone Zachary James graciously me to write a song for his recital, and then the world shut down. Ever the resourceful one, though, Zach instead put his energy into a virtual album of new works by female composers (thank you for fighting the good fight, sir!) to be enjoyed from anywhere. In 2020, lyricist Robert Maddock appropriately wondered if perhaps Pinocchio decided being a real boy was too much. In our song, Zach’s Pinocchio prays to the Blue Fairy to be turned back into a wooden puppet.
