Ding, Ding, Ding! We’re Open!

If you have ever encountered me during the last few months of any year, you’ve heard me gripe about the terrible, non-rhyming, non-scanning holiday songs assaulting my ears as they’re shoehorned into commercials for the unlikeliest products all season long. Though rhyming and scanning happen to be my specialty, I will spare you all that and cut to the chase:

MY SHEET MUSIC STORE IS FINALLY LIVE!

To start, I’ve made 32 selections available for digital download. Features so far include vocal scores, libretti, and excerpted arias from a handful of operas. Over time, more operas will join the list, and orchestral materials will join their respective piano/vocal scores.

You will also find a variety songs for every vocal range. Beneath every entry is a video or audio sample so you know what you’ll be getting into! For the standalone songs, I opted for the categories of High Voice and Medium/Low Voice rather than Soprano, Tenor, etc., because I look forward to being surprised by the performers choosing to sing my work. Eventually I’ll have curated collections of these songs in a single file for each category.

In time I will add a page for selections from my musicals. Since I’ve been concentrating more on opera and other kinds of vocal music lately, that part of my catalogue will require a little more TLC and thought to make it the best it can be.

Whether you’re planning a recital (for yourself or your student), freshening up the English-language and/or crossover part of your audition book, dialing up the snark factor for your cabaret rep, or peppering your upcoming season with alternatives to the greatest hits, there’s bound to be something here for you or someone you know. This is only the beginning! Please take a look around, purchase some downloads if you’re so inclined, and subscribe to my mailing list to be the first to know about all the latest titles. If you’re looking for anything specific that you can’t find there, definitely reach out to me and let me know, and I’ll see what I can do. Meanwhile, here’s a trip back to many Black Fridays ago with the great John-Andrew Morrison at the much-bereaved Cornelia Street Cafe. (This was apparently the first things I ever posted to YouTube! I have to find a new rhyme for “PlayStation 3s” since we’re apparently several models beyond that now…)

Happy shopping (holiday and otherwise),

RP
