Companionship at Frontiers
Scenes from Companionship, my adaptation of the short story by Arthur Phillips, were recently performed at Fort Worth Opera's Frontiers festival. It was an incredible week working with absolutely top-notch artists and experiencing fellow composers' and librettists' exciting new projects. As a bonus, the piece got a fantastic review. And watch this space for more thrilling news about Companionship in the coming weeks! I think it's fair to say that this experience was far more than I ever dreamed possible. Composers and librettists out there: the application for next year's festival is now open, and if this format is something that would help you in the development of your opera, I heartily encourage you to throw your hat into the ring!
